“Old rose” brooch

19th Century | France | Gold, silver, diamond, yellow sapphire

This pure and beautiful “old rose” brooch symbolises a mother’s love. The brooch was a part of Princess Maria Anna of the House of Bourbon-Parma's collection. On her 70th birthday in 1926, Princess Isabella of Croÿ, Duchess of Teschen (1856 – 1931), mother of Princess Maria Anna, gave this ancient rose brooch to her daughter. In the middle of the diamond petals is a 11.99-carat gemstone. The stamen of the brooch can be separated from the petals and worn separately.
